About the project

The City's Home Repair pilot began physical rehabilitation in May 2026 across tornado-damaged homes in the north St. Louis area. Future batches involve applicant eligibility review, inspection, work scoping and repairs subject to funding and per-home caps. City says rental and commercial buildings are excluded from this owner-occupied component.

What happens next

Proposed additional $30m Phase 2 funding and repair groups to be finalised; no overall project programme completion date confirmed.

What remains uncertain

The November 5 figure of 1,200 is preliminary applicant eligibility, not 1,200 approved contracts or completed houses. Approximately 60 pilot homes have completed work; the wider programme is Current, not Historical. $30m allocation is a proposal until approved, and $50k per-household is a cap rather than spending to date.
