About the project

Master plan, not an approved road construction project: design teams will prepare community charrettes, proposals for sidewalk and streetscape connectivity, recommended heritage preservation, commercial development and anti-displacement planning, cost/phasing and financing strategies. County procurement sought a draft plan in 2027. The chosen design consultant is not a general contractor for all resulting improvements.

What happens next

County procurement originally targeted a July 2027 draft; 6 November owner statement describes the planning work over the coming year. This is only a schedule, with no certified final adopted master plan or separate construction approval.

What remains uncertain

2024 federal grant, 2026 master-plan request for qualifications and 6 November consultant-selection statement independently support this planning programme. Do not count already opened Willis B. Sheftall park or Pleasant Hill Pathway as newly financed construction under this article. No streetscape construction start or specific housing development is authorized by selection of a planning team.
