About the project

Northwest Trail Segment 4 links English/Culpepper to Trabert Avenue near Monday Night Brewing. Section 4A is under construction with elevated rail bridge works; Section 4B is separately programmed for procurement. The scheme will also adjust Howell Mill Road crossing arrangements and require adjacent building relocation.

What happens next

Verify actual partial opening, CSX steel installation, section 4B bid and whole corridor completion; owner forecasts summer 2027 overall.

What remains uncertain

November partial opening is an owner forecast, not a confirmed opening. The entire Segment 4 is not treated as complete or fully under construction because 4B still has procurement ahead.
